LinkedIn, Lynda.com’s parent company, is changing the terms such that library patrons would now need to create a LinkedIn profile account or link to an existing account in order to access classes. This means that patrons would need to turnover personally identifiable information in order to use the service.

Mahopac Library believes that all people, regardless of origin, age, background, or views, possess a right to privacy and confidentiality in their library use. We value your privacy, including your personally identifiable information and we don’t think you should be monetized in this way and don’t feel comfortable offering it as a service.
