Putnam Chorale Presents: “An American Tapestry”
June 14th at 2pm
Community Room, 3rd Floor
Join the Putnam Chorale Ensemble while they present a stirring new program to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution! “An American Tapestry”, presented under the direction of Maestro Jason Tramm, traces the musical story of the United States from its earliest colonial roots to the soaring anthems of the 20th century. The program features radiant lyricism in Samuel Barber’s Sure on This Shining Night, the bold revolutionary spirit of William Billings’s David’s Lamentation and Chester, and the open-hearted folk traditions of Aaron Copland’s beloved Simple Gifts, At the River, and Zion’s Walls. Together, these works reflect a young nation finding its voice through faith, poetry, and the music of everyday people.
Ages 18+
The library’s policy on children states “children in fifth grade and under shall be accompanied in the building by a responsible adult who must remain with the children at all times.” In other words, children may not be left in the Youth Services area unattended while you attend this program.
