Join Our 5-Week Meditation Series at the Mahopac Library! Discover the benefits of meditation in this welcoming five-week series. Whether you’re new to meditation or looking to deepen your practice, you’ll explore:
- What meditation is and how it works
- Different styles and approaches to meditation
- Why people meditate and its benefits for everyday life
Each session includes a guided group meditation, featuring a variety of techniques and lengths, including:
- Beginner’s Meditation – Learn foundational techniques for starting a meditation practice.
- Relaxation & Presence – Use the breath and body awareness to cultivate calm and presence.
- Mindfulness Meditation – Develop awareness of thoughts, sounds, emotions, and physical sensations.
- Healing Meditation – Encourage deep relaxation and foster a sense of healing and inner connection.
- Loving-Kindness Meditation – Cultivate compassion and kindness toward yourself and others.
- Anxiety & Stress Relief Meditation – Release tension and promote emotional balance through mindful breathing and focused awareness.
The library’s policy on children states “children in fifth grade and under shall be accompanied in the building by a responsible adult who must remain with the children at all times.” In other words, children may not be left in the Youth Services area unattended while you attend this program.
