Headless Horseman? Jack ‘O’ Lanterns? Ghosts & Goblins? Yes please! Halloween: you’re up! To bring it in, the Mahopac Public Library will be hosting a short-film competition with the community. Gather your friends and family, and devise your own spooky, sci-fi, ghoulish, supernatural, haunting or hilarious movie masterpiece. Registration is for teens in grades 6 and up. For the sake of the general audiences, let’s keep it PG. The competition ‘officially’ begins September 13th, but don’t let that stop you from getting a head start!
Prizes!
Winner of the event gets $100, runner up gets $75 and 3rd gets $50. Everyone gets their movie shown. Snacks and beverage will be provided!
Recommended movie length is up to 6 minutes, but will accept a minute or so longer.
Need help putting your footage together? Call the library at 845-628-2009 and make an appointment with Joe, our brand new in-house editor! He can help you put your story together, select music, and more!
Best of luck in your creative adventures and SEE YOU ON HALLOWEEN WEEKEND!
