Early Literacy Programs: Fall 2026
Registration opens on August 17th at 10 am.
One registration covers the entire series for each class
First preference given to Mahopac/Mahopac Central School District Residents. Non-residents will be placed on a Wait List and will be admitted if space allows and at the discretion of library staff. Please wait for email notification of your acceptance into the class before attending.
Book Babies
Tuesdays at 11:00 AM, September 22nd – October 27th
Children from birth to 13 months (pre-walkers) and their caregivers
Located in the Lake View Room
Children from birth to 13 months (not yet walking) together with their caregivers will enjoy this program led by Ms. Cindy, with songs, nursery rhymes, fingerplays, lap bounces, and book sharing. A great way to connect with other young families!
Rhythm and Reading
Mondays at 11:00 AM, September 21st – October 26th
For children aged 3 to 5 years and their caregivers.
Located in the Lake View Room
Join Ms. Dayna for this Early Literacy class chock full of fun songs, stories, puppets, instruments, fingerplays, and dances. Designed to enrich language skills & self expression.
Wiggles and Giggles
Tuesdays at 10:00 AM, September 22nd – October 27th
OR
Wednesdays at 10:00 AM, September 23rd – October 28th
Toddlers ages 13-23 months who are walking independently, along with their caregivers
Located in the Lakeview Room
Join Ms. Cindy for this active program of songs, rhymes, movement, fingerplays and book sharing to build Early Literacy skills.

Join Ms. Dayna for stories, crafts and lots of Early Literacy fun for children ages 3-5 years and their caregivers. This class is designed for the child who enjoys crafts and can sit and listen to a story.
