For kids in grades 2-6
Community Room, 3rd Floor
Join Paper Hearts puppeteer Brad Shure for a combination workshop and puppet show for children in grades 2 to 6. In the first half of this program, students build simple puppet characters from recycled cardboard; in the second, they join the puppeteer in a guided, improvised performance using everyone’s creations to tell a brand-new story. Children should be able to work independently but caregivers need to stay in the library for the duration of the program and are welcome to watch the improvisational puppet show performance.
First priority given to residents of Mahopac Central School District; all others will be place on a waitlist and admitted if space allows and at the discretion of library staff.
The library’s policy on children states “children in fifth grade and under shall be accompanied in the building by a responsible adult who must remain with the children at all times.” In other words, children may not be left in the Youth Services area unattended while you attend this program. Thank you for your cooperation.
