Drugs, alcohol, or addiction to the American dream… is it a disease or natural brain habit? Addictions in this country continue to increase due to high stress levels, lack of empowerment, consumerism, and ongoing stigma and judgement that creates barriers to “real” community.
Alison Lewis, LMHC, licensed counselor of 25 years, will talk about understanding addiction, and why addiction becomes destructive over time.
Topics will include self-empowerment tools, alternative ideas for exploring addiction, neuroscience, and family education.
