In celebration of the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Dr. Patricia Tarantello of Marist College will give a presentation describing the Gothic genre while tracing its history and also placing Shelley’s novel within this tradition. Additionally, Dr. Tarantello will describe the publication history of Frankenstein, offer an overview of popular critical interpretations of the text, and highlight some of the ways Frankenstein influenced and continues to influence readers.
